Welcome! Word on the Street is a collection of various entries about the etymology of words.
In simplest terms, etymology is how words evolve from their original forms and how they're still used today. This blog started out as a class project to see what we could find out about the most basic of words and if they had stranger and more interesting meanings than how we use them today.
